Officer safety has always been a fundamental concern for Laser Technology, Inc. (LTI) in the design and development of our law enforcement products. It is our goal that what we make continues to foster a safer work environment for our officers.<\/p>\n
That is why we have teamed up with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF)<\/a> on multiple occasions to present potential life-saving tips to keep officers as safe as possible no matter what the workday presents. This year, LTI and the NLEOMF are joining forces once again at the IACP Conference<\/a>.<\/p>\n LTI and the NLEOMF hosted an \u201cEffective Tactics for Officer Safety\u201d presentation at the IACP Solutions Presentations Theatre. During this valuable event, attendees will hear from traffic safety professionals on what methods and equipment are best to maintain officer safety while on duty.<\/p>\n The NLEOMF will also provide statistics from their 2016 Mid-Year Law Enforcement Officer Fatalities Report and offer ways to stay safe while on duty. This is just a brief glance at a few of the findings:<\/p>\n One statistic coming out of the report is associated to traffic related incidents. In 2015, traffic related incidents were the number one cause of law enforcement deaths. However, 2016 is the first year in 3 years where that is not the case anymore. They are now the second leading cause of officer fatalities, with a 17% decrease from 2015.<\/p>\n This is only a handful of the important statistics from the NLEOMF report.
